And somehow in all my post-game scrambling for details I forgot this, but that's okay because it deserves a post of its own.

THE ASTROS ARE WITHIN ONE GAME OF .500! Yes, that would be the sadsack Houston team who, at one point, had a worse record than the Devil Rays. For, like, a day, but still. They were there.

AND NOW THEY ARE BACK. GO ASTROS.

By the way, in case anyone cares, the Tigers game is on ESPN again tonight. =D

In case anyone else cares, the other game ESPN is carrying is the Red Sox game. I don't know which game is airing where, but either way is goodness.

I made an overdue laundromat trip, but no baseball zombie fic this time. I had something else to work on instead, which shall make its way onto my journal some time tonight. (Hint: ESPN.)

I found this icon in [livejournal.com profile] customers_suck, of all places.

Doesn't it win?

Very, very briefly, because I had one of those nights last night where you're not quite asleep and not quite awake so you're existing in some bizarre and usually stressful world where something completely implausible is happening (in the world I was in, the Tigers were playing an overnight game and getting absolutely pasted by the Indians, and the reason why involved many-legged bugs, and I swear that's not as random as it sounds). So, I got no rest and I am tired.

Red Sox: Rained out after six innings. What a stupid ass way to lose a game, which they did, 3-1. I was watching the Tigers on ESPN for the most part, but I did hear something distressing about Boomer giving up two homers. But we still totally could have won. Stupid rain.

Tigers: Won 6-4 against the Devil Rays, and really there is nothing sadder than a home game for the Devil Rays. There were like three Rays fans there, and the rest of the crowd (if, like, twelve people counts as a crowd in a boomingly empty stadium) were all Tigers fans. Poor Devil Rays. Anyway, Douglass only gave up three of those runs. The fourth was given up by THE FARNS. I am never going to fall asleep tonight because I'm going to be trying to figure out how the freaking Devil Rays got a run off THE FARNS. (Answer: Vance Wilson sucks at life and should stop trying to gun a pickoff like he's Pudge. He is not. Way to let the guy steal all the way to third, Vance. Okay, I guess I'll sleep.) Magglio Ordoñez and (surprise) Chris Shelton both got homeruns. Back up to three games under .500, which is much better than it was looking on Monday.

Astros: Currently behind the Padres 7-4 in the seventh. I had better wake up to find out that you boys have breached .500.

Yankees: Won 7-2, but they beat the Indians, and after last Monday I HATE the Indians, so I am surprisingly okay with that.

See? Brief. Now I have a fic to title and post, then bed.

Here you go, a little bit of Tigerfic. I apologize for the lame title, which will probably be changed before this goes anywhere else, and also any typos, which will also be changed. I mentioned the tired part, right?

TITLE: "Out"
AUTHOR: Cathryn (catslash33@yahoo.com)
RATING: A light PG-13
PAIRING: Implied Pudge Rodriguez/Ugueth Urbina, a whiff of Pudge Rodriguez/Magglio Ordoñez
SUMMARY: Magglio isn't sure yet where he fits in.
NOTES: Takes place after Tuesday's game against the Indians.
DISCLAIMER: This is a work of fiction. I am not implying anything about anyone mentioned here, 'cos none of it happened. If you think otherwise, then there is really nothing I can do for you.

Magglio feels like the new guy and an old player all at once. )

Now I'll get to bed and probably won't fall asleep for an hour and a half.
