Today I attended an author's reading of an excerpt from his book, because I am required to write a couple of analyses of readings for my Oral Interpretation class. I feel that the following description of his own character is all you need to know to understand this experience.

"The most compassionate person in literature as I know it."

Also he went just long enough in the Q&A after for me to run to the corner just in time to watch the bus go by and have to wait an hour for the next.

It's a shame that his actual reading was good, because it means I won't get to tear him apart properly in my essay.

Windbag.

Oh look, I went a week and a half without posting again. I don't have long, so this post will be short, but.

Upside of taking summer classes: I can make up for the credits the insomnia totally screwed me over on, seriously, half the reason I haven't posted is because I don't even wanna talk about it.

Downside of taking summer courses: I still have to walk the mile to campus, even when it is the first legitimately hot and gross day of the year. And this will continue for the rest of this month and part of June, and then begin anew toward the end of July and into August, AKA the hottest part of the year.

At least today the room I'm in has air conditioning, because it's full of movie-watching equipment. (Class subject? The films of Stanley Kubrick. Fuck yeah, you guys, I'm getting credit to watch movies and talk about them.)

I got my Villainess package, complete with Miss Edith perfume oil and a reworking of Lipstick Lost that I was curious to check out! Yay!

I am severely congested and can't smell a goddamn thing! FAIL.

On the other hand, having my first cold for like a year (seriously, you guys, it has been a really good run, I've been waiting to get sick for like three months now, so I really don't have any room to complain) has led me to the following vital discovery: Kleenex now makes three-ply tissues. Is this new? Is it old? Who cares? IT'S AWESOME. They are so soft. And I don't have to fold them over to keep from blowing right through them!

Boy, I love dragging myself out to campus to discover that my only class for the day has been cancelled.

. . . actually, the weather is gorgeous, my Creative Zen decided to present me with The Fix, and I walk to campus instead of taking the bus now so it was a lovely walk and I can leave whenever I want. Plus I can hang out in the computer lab and use the gigantic gorgeous Macs they have (seriously, so fucking pretty) to thread at Milliways and possibly even type up and finish polishing a Fix fic that I keep - uh, not typing and polishing.

So what was I bitching about again? MY LIFE IS SO HARD YOU GUYS.

I think I need to do another challenge request of some kind. I might do crossovers again. That was fun. I still need to round up and post the ones I did for the kiss challenge way back in like October. Which I still haven't finished fulfilling, and frankly, aside from the one I've written but not typed (you know who you are), I can't do the ones I have left. I just have nothing coming to mind whatsoever. That happens with these challenges; there are always a couple that don't click for me. Anyway. I suppose I could get going on compiling those here on the gorgeous Mac too.
