So I just finished rereading the MsScribe story for the first time since it came out, and I was just idly wondering - was charlottelennox's fandom identity ever revealed?

HEY FLIST.

Does anyone know of a community for those "thirty day" memes that are popular lately? Because I'd like to get back into that whole thing where I post more than twice a month, but it's been so long since I've done that that I forget what to post ABOUT. One of those memes might help me get used to posting again, and an archive of them to pick and choose from would be really convenient.

So, help?

And I break a month of silence for an important question:

Who else has, since seeing Inception, had the dream where you know you're dreaming and make yourself wake up repeatedly, only to discover that there are layers and you haven't really woken up yet?

Because I know I am not the only one.

(For added fun: I was plotting to try screaming, which I can never manage to do in dreams, on the theory that if it somehow worked in real life someone would come wake me up! Also, I thought briefly abut the Sandman story where Dream traps a dude in a nightmare he can't wake up from. Good times.)

OKAY OKAY. Everyone on the flist is doing this one (like, seriously, six in a row when I checked a few minutes ago), so I give. I've kind of been thinking of a new LJ name lately anyway, since I'm not exclusively a slasher anymore, so maybe I'll got an idea from someone!

Inquiry:

What's the statute of limitations on songs you should hate but love anyway? In other words, how long before nostalgia becomes an acceptable factor/excuse?

I have a copy of "My Heart Will Go On" complete with clips of dialogue from Titanic. The movie came out when I was fourteen, and I saw it for the first time when I was fifteen (for my birthday!). I am now twenty-six. Is it okay to admit that, due to fond associations, I love the song and always will, or should I keep my mouth shut on the subject for a while longer? What about Ricky Martin's "La Vida Loca," which came out when I was roughly sixteen? When does it become okay to embrace songs (or other forms of media) that become victims of tremendous backlash?
