Moment of Amusement: I rewatched Spider-Man the other day, and discovered that the Times Square scene has a big ol' ad for Suntory Whiskey. I was reminded of Lost in Translation immediately and giggled through the entire scene. "For relaxing times . . . make it Suntory time." If Spider-Man had only had more Suntory, things might have turned out differently.

Watched Bride of Re-Animator last night. Yeah, not that good. I almost cried when The Amazing Dr. Bathead showed up, though. The entire movie was seriously worth it for that alone. Hilarious.

Another retroactive fandom moment that occurred while I was watching Spider-Man:

Dr Strom: *explains that the, uh, soldier-making strength stuff (the only word I can think of for fictional scary substances right now is Re-Agent; DAMN YOU HERBERT WEST!) had a bad effect on a batch of lab rats, ultimately causing "aggression, homicidal tendencies, and insanity."

Usually this is the part where I ask when sanity tests for lab rats were developed, but time I had the following epiphany:

"Oh my god! *points at screen* YOU MADE BEN!!"
