Moment of Amusement: I rewatched Spider-Man the other day, and discovered that the Times Square scene has a big ol' ad for Suntory Whiskey. I was reminded of Lost in Translation immediately and giggled through the entire scene. "For relaxing times . . . make it Suntory time." If Spider-Man had only had more Suntory, things might have turned out differently.

Watched Bride of Re-Animator last night. Yeah, not that good. I almost cried when The Amazing Dr. Bathead showed up, though. The entire movie was seriously worth it for that alone. Hilarious.

Dr. BATHEAD!!! Oh, my... yes... Dr. Hill has a good insult in that movie... "mental midget."

And, no, it isn't nearly as good as the first Re-Animator, but it does continue the slashy trend. On the actor commentary, Bruce Abbott keeps hinting at it while Jeffrey Combs tries to change the subject. It's so great. And he says something awesome when Dan first comes into the house: "Our living room! Why are we living together?" Isn't it obvious?

Love Herbert's face when Dan and Francesca are upstairs... and then him listening in... and the finger-spider.

Beyond Re-Animator is far, far worse... better production values, but a bad script and no Dan Cain (Herbert says that he turned state's evidence against him, which is very un-Daniel) or Dr. Hill ('s head). The only good bits are Jeffrey Combs (prison definitely changed Herbert; he got new glasses, for one), a fight between a rat and a re-animated phallus, and a music video so terrible that I, naturally, loved it.

*is reinspired to work on Re-Animator slash site* Bwahaha.

Hee hee hee. Doooo it.

I have to pick up Beyond Re-Animator on the way home today, since we actually have it. (And to think when we got that week's new movies shipment I made fun of it. You just never know. I think I was just amused that the DVD cover was ALL excited about this guy I'd never heard of, playing a character I'd never heard of, in a sequel to a movie I'd never heard of.) I'm just excited by the blurb's implied promise of homicidal zombie rats. I enjoy rats of any kind in my entertainment way too much since I saw Willard.

Oh, and the website? Do it. =D

Yeah, I definitely had one or two Willard flashbacks while watching Beyond...

And I am doing my best to do the website (with, like, almost no content, but hey). I even applied to make the "offical" (ooh, wow) Herbert/Dan fanlisting. *dorksamundo*
