Rikki's grandfather is doing pretty well, from what I understand. Thanks for the good wishes, guys. =)

In other news, I found a job. And I kept it for almost twenty-four hours. It was so ridiculous. I went in Saturday morning and someone had called out. It was v. busy with only the owner and one other worker there to keep up with the line, and I pretty much knew how to wash dishes. So, I figured I'd keep myself out of the way, since the last thing you want when you're slammed is something slowing you down. I seriously don't know why he didn't just send me home and have me come back on a day that would be better for training. But he didn't. He simply fired me instead. Which in fine by me, because he was this type: He would give me a task complete with a dozen (if I was lucky) words of instruction, then get impatient and take over when I didn't get it right within a minute and a half. By the time noon rolled around I was already trying to figure out how I could quit gracefully and still feel free to go back when I wanted one of their delicious chimichangas, so really he just saved me some trouble. So, I got myself out of the house on a rainy day when I wouldn't have ventured out otherwise, and made forty bucks. And now I have a bizarre story to tell, and he doesn't have to do anything so insane as actually display patience with the new girl's mistakes, so it worked out for everyone.

And now for happiness: this morning when I went into Videoport (GOD I love Videoport, best video store ever), the guy at the counter determined that I was looking for work ("Didn't I see you at your job the other day?" "Yeah, there's a funny story there . . .") and asked me to fill out an application. I really, really hope something comes of this. Videoport is my dream job. I've wanted to work there since I was at Movie Gallery and decided that I loved the job but hated the company and would love to work at a real video store. So please cross your fingers with me for this one, guys. I want this job. *hopes*

This weekend I'm going to Bangor to visit [livejournal.com profile] manderspander. We are going to hang out, watch movies, drink, and make fun of the Yankees cheer on the Red Sox. We've been planning it for a month and I am so excited.

Glad to hear that! *smiles*

*winces* I'm glad you don't have to deal with him on a regular basis. I've worked with people like that before. And I'm happy you got forty bucks out of it. ; )

All the best for the Videoport job! *crosses fingers*

And enjoy the Bangor trip!

Dude, DUUUUUUDE! I'm conducting nightly services in your honor at my personal pantheon (which consists of the Buddha of the Broken Hand, T-Rex, Baddass Machete Goddess, Fat Money Buddha, and the Ganesh and Vishnu finger puppets, all cared for by Aladdin the naked eunuch) in hopes that the gods smile upon you and grant your most deserving wish to work at Videoport! SUCCEEEEEEED!!!

Wow, you'd be in so wonderfully close proximity to one of my favorite minds in the old port, Matt Little. Amazing.
Super good luck!
