So I've finally had the, uh, pleasure of hearing the "Vindicated," by (I think) Dashboard Confessional, the obligatory Spider-Man 2 pop tie-in.
I did not think it was possible for the sequel's song to transcend the first movie's song, "Hero," in terms of sheer whiny righteous bad lyrics.
I was oh so wrong.
Sadly, where I love "Hero" for its sheer silly camp appeal (not only does it have bad lyrics and overwrought vocals, but it's also sung by a long-haired blond guy named Chad), "Vindicated" just kind of sits there.
Also, the lyrics, unfortunate as they are, still correspond nicely with the them of the movie, which has the unintended effect of making me want to boot Peter Parker into the middle of next week when I listen to the song.
