FLIST. After having gotten back into a reasonably normal sleep cycle again and even giving up the medication I'd been taking (I slept better the night after, which was Friday night, than I have in ages), I once more have missed a night's sleep and am basically terrified that it's starting again. Obvsly I'm going right back on the Benadryl tonight, but I am not above begging for reassurance and calming vibes and all that shit, because SERIOUSLY getting worked up here. Please help me snap me out of it in the next couple of hours before I have to go to bed! I am going to lose my damn MIND if I have to do this again so soon.

(Uh, and to those of you on [livejournal.com profile] the_thickofit who may have been wondering where this week's comm rewatch post was - my bad. By the time I remembered it, it was so late I decided to go with taking a week off and apologizing profusely next week. It's gotten so quiet, anyway; I'm not sure how many people even care anymore.)

Oh no, I'm sorry you might be having more trouble with insomnia. :-( I send all my best wishes for a good night's sleep your way and hope that this is just a false alarm.

IT WILL BE OKAY. For srs. Don't freak out! There is nothing to freak out about, I promise. It will be okay. You will sleep.

Because I work different hours every week (every day, practically), my sleep cycle is all screwed up. Functionally screwed up, I guess, because I manage it without medication and it doesn't really cause me anxiety or illness, just annoyance. So not as bad as what you've got goin' on, obviously, BUT fwiw:

Getting into some semblance of a sleep cycle is important, but if I (or circumstance) screw it up for a day here and there, it's not the end of the world. Sometimes just knowing that you CAN have a normal(ish) sleep cycle is enough to help right it again, and it sounds like you did have a normal(ish) sleep cycle for a little while, anyways. Esp. if going back on meds that helped before is still an option, you'll probably be fine.

Sleeeeeeeeep!

I'm not sure it's the same for everyone, but my insomnia comes and goes, I hate to say. Missing one night's sleep doesn't necessarily mean you're heading back into a bad patch again, though – sometimes you'll have one dodgy night and the next will be okay, sometimes it lasts longer. I wish I could say for certain that it WAS just a one-off, but it can depend on a lot of different factors. But taking the Bendryl again should help knock you out and anything that will do that can help break the cycle of anxiety keeping you from sleeping, then the not sleeping making you anxious, and so on.

Don't worry about it. That's really how the cycles can stop, is worrying about it. Just do things that calm you before bed and the benadryl should help again.
