HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT YOU GUYS. YOU GUUUUUUUYS.

GHOSTWRITER'S FIRST SEASON IS COMING OUT ON DVD IN JUNE.

I cannot EVEN. I loved this show so, SO MUCH omg I have to go explode now.

It is appropriate that I should find this link (thanks, Charles!) while I'm watching Titanic all the way through for the first time since it left theaters. So. For the eleventh time.

HATERS TO THE LEFT. You know what? I've been avoiding watching this movie again for years because I was afraid of finding out it sucked, as so many things one likes when one is fifteen tend to do, BUT IT IS STILL AWESOME. I don't even wanna hear it. TITANIC FOREVER. (I may be slightly biased.)

Whereas I am hopelessly biased against Titanic because it didn't include my great-great-uncle. Pah! I spit on your movie!

Pfft, he was running around in the background or something.

Wow, fitting that you brought that up, since I actually tried to avoid getting into a fight with a Titanic hater yesterday (didn't work because he really wanted to fight about it, WTF?). I will never not love that movie!

Just the other day, I was telling someone that I'd seen Shutter Island and she started talking about her "allergy" to Leo because of his romantic roles, and I was just like, fucking hell, what does this guy have to DO to escape the Titanic stigma? I haven't really been following his career, but I'm pretty sure romantic flicks have not been a major staple for him for a LONG time, if ever. (And IMDb would seem to back me up on that.)

And then she saw Shutter Island and freely admitted he was awesome in it, so I win, but geez. It's amazing how stigmatized that movie still is over a decade later.

Dude I fucking loved Shutter Island. Just saw it today, and reviewed it for Cinema Chicks. It should be posted whenever Brooke can drag herself away from the box of wine. :P

I totally admit my love for Leonardo DiCaprio, even though as a young teenager I went through the obligatory mocking stage.

I did not care much for the movie, to be frank - the ridiculous "OMG WE ARE DRIVING TO THE HOSPITAL LOOK IT'S THE HOSPITAL LOOK WE ARE HERE AND IT IS EEEEEEVIL" music in the beginning turned me against it, and then it just didn't work hard enough to win me back.

But the story itself did interest me enough to check out the book, which I did enjoy. The movie is an incredibly faithful adaptation, so I'm not sure what the difference was - maybe it's that it worked better for me as a novel, or maybe it was because I already knew the ending, and I didn't have to sit there and be cranky because I had guessed the ending an hour in and the wait to confirm that I was right was WAY TOO LONG. When you know for sure, you can concentrate on how it's being set up, and that is pretty cool. I recommend that you give the book a try.

None of this in any way detracts from the awesomeness of Leo. I'll probably watch it again just for him.

Well, I have to admit, I pretty much guessed the big plot twist all along. But because I love Scorsese I did not even give a fuck. And the music - it's a Hitchcock-style film noir. If it had featured carnival music, I'd have been super disappointed. :-P Even though I figured out the ending ahead of time, I was intrigued and fascinated as to how it was all going to play out, and what really happened to get it to that point.
