Supernatural!

That was amazing. I have gotten accustomed, in this season, to the show getting progressively more insane, so I can live with Chuck and the implication that things are going to get EVEN WORSE. Do they ever not get worse? I miss season one. I've been rewatching it, it's been a pleasure. Mmm, angst-lite Winchesters.

Uh, anyway. The rest of it was THE BEST. I am a huge, huge sucker for meta humor and always have been, and the part that I know is going to piss off the majority of online fandom had me in hysterics. I was really, really hoping for a jab at the John Divide, but no joy. I think I'll survive.

Seriously, the show has already made it clear that certain elements of fandom are, uh - well, it's been an awful lot more tolerant than I'd expect, is what I am saying here. The only surprises here is that they went there; going that meta is a pretty ballsy move, and my GOD I want to know what the fans who have never heard of Wincest thought of that.

I'm going to have to watch it again to fully absorb the awesome, but that much delicious meta humor, bordering on the unfreakingcomfortable (all fanfic writers imagine themselves in their verses of choice, dealing with the characters on whatever level; admit it, you'll feel better), combined with SO MUCH WANK OH GOD THERE IS GOING TO BE SO MUCH WANK has me floating in fits of glee.

And yes, the icon choice was deliberate. I was not surprised that Daddycest got passed over for a poke. :D

Parts of that episode made my head hurt. I felt like Dean in the laundromat for some parts. Though it's nice to find out that they do their own laundry after how many years? lol

I'm just glad I wasn't watching this episode with my mom because I would not want to explain slash to her. But Sam knowing all about slash made me lol. Of course he would. And Dean the closet Vonnegut fan? Who knew!

I have a friend who was watching with her thirteen year old sister. AWKWARD.

In a nutshell, the boys learned that there was a guy writing books that happened to follow their lives exactly. Further investigation revealed that the books had a small but rabid online fandom, and Sam/Dean slash (the characters in the books all had the same names) was prevalent. Sam and Dean WTFed appropriately.

Now guess what the most popular pairing in SPN fandom in. :D I DIED.

Fandom is actually squeeing about the slash comments. They feel this is a shout-out to them and have chosen to ignore Dean's "that's just sick" reaction. Almost every post I've seen in all the communities I'm in have a bunch of squeeing going on.

Oh, fandom, you are so mockable. And being a part of fandom, I totally get to relish the mocking.

"I like it best when they cry." YES!
