catslash: (The Fix)
([personal profile] catslash Feb. 17th, 2009 03:47 pm)
YOU GUYS. YOU GUYS. YOU GUYS.

I have, currently paused on my DVD player to as to avoid EXPLODING with glee, a full bootleg of the London show of The Fix. I did not even want to mention on my journal that I had purchased it, for fear of somehow jinxing it (things in my life tend to get screwed up by the stupidest details - in this case, I was afraid that my ancient DVD player would not be able to play a burned DVD, and felt strongly that this could be avoided by not talking about it too much; obviously I was right) BUT NOW IT IS HERE AND I HAVE IT AND IT WORKS OMG.

I never, ever thought I would actually get to see it. My glee, it is EPIC.

There is that and there is also the Milliways side of things: I CAN HAS CANON YOU GUYS. Time to see what-all I completely fucked up! And what new stuff I can use to torment Cal further! And FINALLY I will be able to resolve The Problem Of Tina.

OKAY I AM GOING TO GO WATCH NOW BUT I HAD TO COME SPAZ AT YOU ALL FIRST.

AS SOON AS I CAN GET MY CD-ROM WORKING AGAIN AND FIND A GOOD PROGRAM FOR IT I SWEAR.

. . . honestly, it might be a while.

Oh my god, Jenna, during his death scene he does the bring-it-on arm spread before he gets shot. Can I have a few more parallels to Jack, please? Wait, what's that? It's not possible without them actually becoming the same character? OKAY THEN.

Or teh Barrowman only has one "I AM ABOUT TO DIE A HEROIC DEATH" gesture.

*snerk* One or the other. Either way, I'm about ready to give up pretending that I'm still trying not to get Cal too involved with the Whoniverse. The forces of fate appear to be working against me.

Cooooooooome to the Whooooooooooooverse...we have Dalek-shaped cookies.

mmmcookies. :D

I've been tempted for a while now, for reasons discussed here. It just seemed - a bit much, somehow. But it really all works so well that resisting is starting to seem pointless.

Cookies trump everything :).

But if you like the 'verse, I don't see why not. It's a fun place to be. You know, between Dalek invasions.

I might! Ianto could help, yes? Cal wants to go back to New York, regardless of what world he ends up on, so he'd be conveniently out of the way in terms of canon plots.

Excellent. :D Either way, it'd still be a while yet - Cal isn't really ready to move and will probably need another few months to grieve and gain closure. And I have more stuff to play with now that I've watched the whole play. *g*

Obviously, this is a tragedy and must be discouraged.

By which I mean, OH, YEAH, BABY.

Hi! *waves* Dude, I feel you. I had resigned myself to never, never seeing it, so when I was provided with a source that HAD it, I basically fell over with glee.

I intend to eventually rip it, once I've got my computer in proper working order again, and then I will share like a sharing thing. My goal in life since I discovered it last June has been to get EVERYONE I KNOW to listen to it. This has been less effective than one might hope. Maybe a bootleg will prove more appealing.

Or you could e-mail me for details about said source if you do not wish to wait (and I would not blame you).

DERRY IT IS SO AWESOME. Narratively it is a MESS and the vague-ass liner notes are still sadly clearer on some plot points when they aren't flat-out CONTRADICTING other ones, but the performances are every bit as awesome as the soundtrack leads you to expect, and everyone has all the right chemistry in all the right scenes. (Incidentally, I approve of your icon.)
