My roommate's father died over the night. It's not unexpected - she's been waiting for him to go for years, and she seems peaceful about it so far and was talking about how he had a graceful exit and didn't have to go through the misery that some people end up in toward the end, no Alzheimer's or nursing homes or anything. She's leaving tomorrow to go to the funeral and be with her family, so I get to take care of her cat and not blow up the house. She warned me about a week ago that this might happen, so I am totally ready to feed and water and clean the litter box. I pretty much moved in just in time; nice for her to have a built-in cat carer around. One less thing to worry about.

Please pass on my condolences, even though she probably has no clue who I am. How's the feline companionship? I miss having a cat, but my wood floors simply could not endure it.
