Mike Timlin has re-signed (that's "re-signed" with the Hyphen of Joy, not "resigned" with the Theo Stomach Kick of Sadness), and the Tigers have picked up Jamie Walker's 2006 option.

So, amidst the madness, with the firings of managers and coaches and the walking away of beloved GMs, something is staying the same. At least we'll see two familiar faces next year.

Yes, I'm still sulking about Theo. The last two days at work have been excellent, because when I am at work, I am not on my computer unable to tear myself away from whatever discussion of Theo I can find, which means I am not depressing myself to death, which means my mood improves immeasurably. Today I do not work. I will have to get myself out of the house. My boring-ass library book is due back today, anyway.

I will get over this. I will be fine. The team will be fine. HAHAHAHA okay no it won't, but I will be. *deep breath ommmmmmmm*

Jamie Walker's option was picked up... I'm so excited I can hardly contain myself. The Tigers are going to win the Central now!

Oh wait...

And the sad thing is, it made me really, really happy. I needed something to stay the same, and Jamie Walker will do in a pinch.

Yeah, its not exactly the Tigers bullpen without Jamie Walker.

Bet my dad is thrilled :P he HATES Jamie Walker.

Brilliant. Scintillating! Brilliant.

Timlin, awesome. At least we're assured of having a closer... or, uh, a pitcher... or someone who can sit in the bullpen and hold a ball and look vaguely threatening. That's something!

Yup, there's no quicker and easier way to create a joke than inventing proper nouns. Well, unless you're feeling especially lazy, in which case you can just tack "of DOOM" on the end and call it a day.

So - that's one guy we've gotten back. Go us.

wore my red sox cap grocery shopping this morning and no less than four random people started theo conversations with me. ah, massachusetts. ah, off season, when we're all craving baseball.

we'll get through this, won't we?

I went out in my Tigers hat today, 'cos I have a three-hat rotation set up, and plus at the moment I'm happier as a Tigers fan than a Red Sox fan. How sad is that?

We will survive and move on and tell our children (well, I'll tell my sister's children) stories in hushed voices of the magical man who gave us the thing that many men before him could not achieve.

Ugh, I don't know what to believe. I want to believe the people saying that Theo is not irreplaceable etc and so on, but I'm afraid that the ones predicting total disarray and a five-year setback are the ones making more sense.

The fact that you are clinging to your tigers hat makes me sad for you :P

And I almost commented to this as Brandon. Which would have been funny. I think.

Yeah, it makes me sad for me, too.

Hee! I've gotten plenty of comments from "Pudge," so I don't think I would have even blinked.
