Just before I started my shift today, I went over to get my usual cup of coffee. My Astros cap caught the eye of one of the guys working on our store's renovation, and he said, "Your team had a tough time last night, huh?"
"Yeah," I said. "I didn't know baseball could make my vision go blurry. That was an interesting new experience."
We chatted a little more, and then he told me that in high school baseball, he played against Jeff Bagwell and Brad Ausmus (!!!). He said everyone could tell that Bagwell was special, and that Ausmus had a "decent chance."
Wow.
Oh, and later on? I glanced at a customer's debit card and found that his name was Michael Lamb. Yep. (Sadly, I did not think to ask if his best friend was named Kara. ;) )
And to top it all off, I got it worked out so I'm working noon to eight tomorrow, instead of eight to midnight, so I'm going to be able to watch the game. This is crucial, as they have lost the postseason games I have listened to at work, and won all the ones I've been able to watch at home. Hey, every little bit helps, right? (No, my manager does not know this. My manager asked if I had a date, and I said yes, because technically it is true. I have a date. I have a date with fifty athletic men. I'm such a lucky girl.)
I present this all as interesting facts and anecdotes. What you make of it is your call.

Ha man that's a nice way to think about that...well it's good that you can watch the game at home, if they've won the ones you've watched.
