Well, Bellhorn's been DFA'd. I'd be more upset, but a) the Tigers are taking care of the disturbing drama department, thanks, and b) I pretty much saw this coming a mile away. With Graff tearing it up and Bellhorn continuing his mediocre year rehabbing in Pawtucket, how else could that have gone?

manderspander that was marred in its loveliness only by the Tigers' Awful, Horrible, No-Good, Very Bad Trade Deadline. One of the items on my list of ways to recuperate from said misery:
* Hurry to the mall bathroom to change into your shiny new Bellhorn shirt whilst assuring yourself that this certainly does not mean he will be put on waivers two weeks from now.
The shirt was purchased on August first. I was wrong about the waivers, but I nailed the time period almost to the day.
Oh, I'll still wear the shirt, just like I still wear my Wells #3 shirt. I just won't be happy that exactly fifty percent of my player shirts are now obsolete. Also, I am not allowed to buy any more player shirts until next April. All the ones procured since the end of last season (I also got a Schilling one for Christmas) have not worked out so well.

I should be grateful that your team allowed him to fulfill his dreams to the fullest and win a WS ring. And I am. But then there's, what does he do now? Who's gonna take him? How's he going to be happy without the game?
