catslash: (what now?)
([personal profile] catslash Aug. 8th, 2005 04:34 pm)
WAIT I am confused. Again. But this time it's nothing to do with Vance Wilson and everything to do with a bit of Re-Animator fandom drama. The two people involved are on my friendslist and both have remarked on the incident. In the interest of anonymity, I shall refer to them as Party One and Party Two.

Party One is upset because Party Two posted a "squeeful" comment in response to some work done by Party One's friend, but posted the comment in a community instead of the friend's journal.

Party Two feels that Party One needs to take some deep breaths.

I, for the record, am not taking sides here, for lo, I am not stupid.

The comment in question? Deleted.

BUT.

Party One thinks that Party Two deleted the comment and finds this snotty. And Party Two thinks that Party One deleted the comment and finds this childish.

So what the hell happened to the comment?

I know this isn't really the point, and I should really avoid getting involved in the wank, but confusion! Who deleted the comment?

Edited because Party Two confessed to the deletion and has edited her journal for clarity. Would still not mind hearing from Party One if he has anything further to say on the matter.

Party two did! I'm sorry, whoops, did I make it seem like I thought someone else had deleted it? No, it was totally me, in a moment of impassioned childish pettiness (not cowardice, just... pettiness). I also tried to make the community post in question not accept comments, but to no avail.

Hee. Yeah, that was the impression I got from your post, but that might be my amazing reading comprehension skills at work again.

I just edited my post a touch; "cowardly" was a bit stronger than how he put it.

Mystery solved! Side still not taken! Yay!

Yay, mystery solved!

I edited my post too to make it clearer because I totally reread it and saw how the remark didn't actually seem to connect to anything and... yeah. Better now.

*reads your post* 'Snotty,' huh? Well, duh. That's me in a nutshell. Mucous-y too. *sniffsniff*

Still a paraphrase, mind you, but a more accurate one. I think.

Aaaaaaargh. :headache:

I also tried to make the community post in question not accept comments, but to no avail.
I didn't even think of doing that. It has now been done.

Thank you... the only option it gave me was for deleting it, which seemed like way, way overkill.

Aw. *gives Advil* Don't even worry yourself over it. From my perspective, the whole thing just looks like a personality clash more than anything else. Nothing to do with you and your post, I don't think.

I admit, I may have overreacted, but it just really bugged to see feedback for my friend that he would probably never see unless one of us stumbled upon it by accident.

Now that I've vented, I'm over it and have moved on.
