OH MY GOD THE TIGERS WON A GAME IT IS AMAZING. (Wow, was that really only a five game losing streak? It seemed so much LONGER.)
No damn thanks to the pitching, mind you (although at least Tram managed to pull Spurling before he could blow the game this time), and all thanks to the offense, but they won it 10-7. Sweet. When our offense is on, I love it. That lineup should be able to give at least some incarnations of the Red Sox lineup a run for its money. Production tonight from all those you would expect: Shelty, Mags, Pudge, Craiggers, Dmitri, Guillen, Polanco - so, yeah, like the entire lineup. Even Omar Infante helpfully got hit by a pitch and scored later. =D
The Red Sox also won, partly because the Royals defense was just embarrassing today, plus we got two freaking runs of wild pitches. Heh. We won 8-5, thanks also to Manny's three-run homer in the first before he collided with Rents and came out of the game. And again, I did not appreciate the scare. But they're both fine.
The Astros won yesterday 3-1 with the usual performance (four hits and a run) from Clemens, although all the talk in the recap about his soreness makes me a bit twitchy. But he's turning forty-three tomorrow, and I suppose he is technically human, so fair enough, I guess. And they just started playing tonight's game, so results there tomorrow.
