So apparently there's another adaptation of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in the works.

Augh! Blasphemy! Horror! Heresy! Sacril - wait, what? It's going to be directed by Tim Burton? And Johnny Depp is the frontrunner to play Willy Wonka?

Oh.

Oh my.

Tim Burton. Forget the sugary sweetness, kids. This piece is going to be darker and psychedelic, like a Roald Dahl movie should be.

And since I can't imagine anyone replacing Gene Wilder, it may as well be Johnny Depp. Give me time and I'll warm to the idea.

But as it is, the Burton part is enough to make me hysterically excited. This flick's barely in preproduction and I already can't wait.

I need to read the book again.
