Um. Wow. That may have been the saddest excuse for an eighth inning I've seen all year.

The Orioles gave up seven runs. SEVEN. And I'd thank the Yankees for managing to pull it out and keep the O's off our backs, but it's not like they actually did anything. They got three hits, and lame little just-barely-hits at that. Meanwhile, the O's are running around hitting guys with pitches, walking guys, making bizarre errors, and just generally being sad.

Stupid Announcer Alert: When they were talking about Mazilli possibly pulling BJ Ryan. "Yes, he's thrown thirty-four pitches, but you don't want to give the game away." Um what? I'm sorry, were you watching a game in which BJ Ryan was being even remotely effective? He has thrown thirty-four pitches today because he sucks today and Mazilli would be better off putting me in the game so why don't you pay attention to what's going on in front of you okay? I don't even know what his final pitch count ended up being, but I do know he gave up six of those seven runs. Yeah, thank goodness Mazilli took his time pulling him.

Final score 13-8, and I vote we all send [livejournal.com profile] ayrdaomei fine liquor to help her cope.

Yeah, I don't drink, but it's games like this that make me think a silly little thing like not drinking for religious reasons really shouldn't stand between me and blissful inebriation. ESPECIALLY SINCE ANY GOD THAT EXISTS CLEARLY HATES ME.

I didn't even want to know the details. I thought it was painful enough watching our poor excuse for a catcher give up passed balls left and right against the Yankees last week. This appears that the rest of the team got right on down to his level. Ugh. Can I get in on those spirits?

Yup. Turns out [livejournal.com profile] ayrdaomei doesn't drink, so they're all yours.

It was bad. Hell, as a good Red Sox fan I wanted the Orioles to lose (while also wanting the Yankees to lose, so my brain got pretty scrambled), but Jesus. Not like THAT. I was cringing.
