Right, so I totally failed to check in with my game roundup last night. By the time the Tigers game was done, it was like one thirty, and I desperately needed to shower because we had one of those sticky days that leave you feeling so gross you're amazed when people encounter you and don't throw up, and then it was two and seriously bedtime.

So. Red Sox. I sort of listened to part of this game at work, so all I know is that our offense continues to win at life and so does Matt Clement. Also, the Phillies starter was painfully bad, and Chase Utley made some of the best errors ever. And I missed having to see Ugie in ther wrong uniform.

(Yay, they totally just interrupted Boomer's first pitch for a Severe Thunderstorm Warning NOT EVEN IN OUR AREA. Give me Boomer back please!)

(Which reminds me, the schedules for my teams have fallen into place so that Boomer, Pettitte, and Bondo all start on the SAME DAY. BASTARDS. At least the Tigers game isn't till later.)

I meant to watch part of the Astros game when I got home yesterday, but I was all in a sulk about Cumberland Farms apparently trying to kill our store, so I wasn't in the mood. This is just as well, as I don't suppose watching them lose by ONE RUN (let's not be lapsing into April's habits, now, please) would have cheered me up too much. Though I would have enjoyed seeing Morgan Ensberg's eighteenth homer. In other words, one less homer than David Ortiz. Two fewer than Princess A-Rod. Seventh in the NL. I demand more love for Morgan Ensberg!

And that Tigers game? WAS THE AWESOME. Sean Douglass made his first start for the Tigers after being called up from AAA. I didn't know whether to expect anything good, or another Ledezma. However, unlike Ledezma, Douglass had preious major league experience (not very good experience, but he had it), and he was awesome last night. He gave up four hits and a run in six innings. It was so exciting to watch. When he left the game, it was tied at one (Pudge knocked in the RBI for that and was just beaming because it came after a frustrating double play), and I was praying for the Tigers to pull it ahead before the next pitcher came in so that Douglass would get the win. I would have accepted one run. The Tigers got four. Once again, Placido showed us why we are so happy to have him, and Chris Shelton made a damn good case for being kept around. Also, we continue to love Inge and Rondell (whose nickname is apparently Rock, but I just can't do that). Tigers won it 5-1. And Douglass got the win. =D

Bellhorn just got a homer to remind me to pay attention, so I'm going to go watch the game now. Oh, and is anyone else amused by the fact that David Wells is such a terrible batter than he can't even manage to get himself out on a sac bunt? That's twice that's happened.
