God, I wish we had a better idea of what's going on in Percy's head. I want to know why he's turned on his family and Harry in favour of an organization he just started working for a year ago. Does he really believe that Harry and Dumbledore have cracked? Has he believed it all along, or did he start out by faking it to keep his job and then really fall into it? What's going on? I want better underatanding, dammit.

I just think he's a fricking idiot, myself. I think he also has an inferiority complex; he wants to be important. I mean, he wasn't even the first prefect or Head Boy in his family. And look at the way he sucks up to everyone in GoF...to him, being noticed by "important" people is worth more to him than his family.

And as I'm only halfway through, I reserve the right to change my thoughts on further reading.

I wonder if JKR is setting Percy up for a major fall? If he'll come to the conclusion that the system is corrupt in a really life-changing, major way? And then he goes onto Harry's/whoever's side.

It's my current theory, anyway.
