And the Sox lose to the Devil Rays again. By guess how many runs? Yeah. Schilling is starting to make me nervous. His three starts so far have not been great.

The ESPN scoreboard isn't showing the new standings yet, but I believe that this puts the Red Sox a game behind the Orioles for first place. (How, exactly, do we go from shutting out the Orioles twice in a row to losing to the Devil Rays twice in a row? Baseball is so weird.) Well, at least this means that the Yankees are now one and a half games behind the Devil Rays.

I'm sad that there was no Tigers game today. I miss them.

Standings: Red Sox ten wins eight losses, Orioles eleven wins seven losses. So, a game and a half behind?

Tomorrow I get cable. Can't wait to watch the Sox games instead of just listening to them. Hmm. Most of stuff is sitting around in boxes - I should go and at least shove them to the side so they don't get in the cable guy's way.

Well, that's cool. I really need to figure out how to calculate this; I know the losses figure into it, and I know they have something to do with why there are halves, but I'm not sure how it meshes. Also, I lose at math. So this'll be fun. I'll need to find someone who won't mind using tiny words to explain it to me.

Go Brandon! I am getting cable just in time to - miss the game, since I'm getting together with my mom just before it starts. =P Oh, well. *brightens* At least I'll get to see Boomer's next start. And maybe I can figure out how to tape tomorrow's game.

I'll never figure out the damn VCR :( I have the Ring Ceremony on tape though, so I'll probably watch that during some random rainy offday. Not just any old sunny offdays because, fuck that, I live by the beach, I'm going swimming!

I can't count either, hell we have to do musical counts in one class of mine when we play these xylophones, and I lose count so damn easily

Here's the formula...

If the Orioles have one more win and one less loss than the Sox, take the sum of the two and multiply by 1/2: (1/2) x (1+1) = (1/2) x (2) = 1. So if they had won five more and lost two fewer than us, they would be (1/2) x (5+2) = (1/2) x (7) = 3 1/2 games ahead of us. Make sense?
