I finally got to see Once Upon a Time in Mexico last night! It's so pretty! And cool! And shiny! I actually don't remember how much sense the plot made, but it was at least followable, and who needs more than that when you have beatiful lighting, fun characters, digital cinematography making everything look even cooler, awesome stunts and shootouts, a bunch of people speaking Spanish, and oh yeah, Johnny Depp and Willem Dafoe and Salma Hayek and Antonio Banderas? It would be criminal to ask more from a movie. I've been looking forward to this motherfucker for a year, and boy am I glad it was worth it.

The DVD has some amusing extras; be sure to check out the "Ten Minute" features. Neither is ten minutes, both are informative and entertaining.

Hmm. Even though I haven't seen it, I still think OUaTiM looks like the rich man's Dance With the Devil. After all, aren't Javier Bardem and Rosie Perez the poor man's Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek?
