Oh, I forgot: Watched Ed Wood yesterday. Great, great movie. I was all glowy yesterday for several hours after.

It's an odd movie, filmed in black and white, but that's all part of it. (Plus, "odd" and "Tim Burton" are synonymous, yes?) The movie explores the career of real-life director Edward D Wood, Jr, known most famously for Plan 9 From Outer Space, which is the film amongst bad movie enthusiasts. It focusses not just on Wood's career, but also his friendship with Bela Lugosi, his romantic life, and yes, his penchant for wearing women's clothing. (And it gets points for having Wood stress over and over that wearing women's clothing does not equal homosexuality. In fact, most crossdressers are straight men.) All the performances are superb, and this is another one of those fims that displays Johnny Depp's versatility so clearly; his Ed Wood bears no resemblence whatsoever to any other character Johnny has played (okay, that I've seen).

Now I want to watch it again. Too bad we had to return it yesterday.
