BEST GAME EVER.

Well. Best football game. That I personally have ever watched. Which basically mkaes best of like fifteen. But still. BEST. GO DOLPHINS.

*is not kidding about the hand grenades*

I have finally decided that, though I was born and raised in Maine, I just don't like the Patriots. I expect it has something to do with having them crammed down my throat since the turn of the century. I was tired of them before I even got into sports at all, never mind football. I tried to start rooting for them last season, but I just couldn't work up the interest. I ended up adopting the Lions instead, which I think speaks pretty clearly to how much I do not care about the Patriots. "Hmm, good team that's won a few recent Super Bowls, or team that's never been good ever. LET ME THINK."

This season, I've also been following the Dolphins a bit, since Joey Harrington was the only the Lion whose name I managed to freaking learn last year, and he is a Dolphin now. I guess I felt vaguely obligated or something. And given the treatment he got in Detroit (I don't know the whole story in detail, but I know the general shape of it), I even cheerfully rooted for him on Thanksgiving. Watching him totally wreck the Lions was fun. (God, I'm the worst fan ever. Probably because my interest in football comes mostly from the lack of baseball. I like watching it but I'm not as involved.)

Wait, I think I'm making a point here.

*backtracks*

Oh, yes. I was definitely rooting for the Dolphins today DON'T HURT ME I HAVE A GRENADE and, by halftime, had sorted out my thoughts on yaoi the Patriots, so I was rooting against them too. They didn't play as badly as they did against the Lions, as far as my inexperienced eye could tell, but they really didn't need to, because the Dolphins are a better team than the Lions. (Of course, I, by myself, am also a better team than the Lions.) I was thinking last night that if they played anywhere near the way they played last week, the Dolphins would have it in the bag, so I was beside myself during the game. That was a good time. And the lost touchdown on a penalty! I about died.

The Dolphins have certainly done some interesting things this year. First they hand the Bears their first defeat of the season, and now they give the Patriots their first shutout since, what was it? 2003? 2004? The announcers couldn't seem to decide.

But, you know, thank god the Lions ditched that good-for-nothing Harrington. That certainly made all the difference. For the Dolphins.

In conclusion, goddamn the Bills have some ugly uniforms.

(Also, random aside: who's that guy who playing the Mac in those Mac commercials? I can't place him and it is driving me crazy. I know it's something really obvious, but my memory isn't cooperating.)

Edit: Oy. I did a word count out of curiosity and discovered that this entry is long enough for me to, theoretically, hand it in as an essay in my English class. Why, yes, I have run way over on every single assignment.
