OKAY.
For the last, I don't know, YEAR AND A HALF, or possibly month and a half, whatever, there has been construction going on in the apartment upstairs. I am a light sleeper, so it doesn't take much to wake me up. Hammering, drilling, sawing, stomping, yelling, and shitty music blasting RIGHT ABOVE MY HEAD will do it EVERY TIME. This is extra special since I get out of work at midnight and am in bed by four and asleep by five ON A GOOD NIGHT, and they get started at eight-thirty in the morning. Luckily, it's been migrating to other areas of the building lately, so I have been able to get some sleep.
It's been noisy again this week, and "last night" when I ended up being awake till six this morning, I figured I would just stay in bed until I had to get up for work. Even with noise in the morning, I reasoned, I would get some rest, as the construction usually subsides by one.
BUT. THE ASTUTE AMONG YOU ARE SAYING. BUT CATHRYN, THE TIME STAMP SAYS QUARTER PAST ELEVEN.
YES. YES IT DOES. That is because the nice men with the tools apparently felt the need to BRING THE PARTY DOWNSTAIRS RIGHT OUTSIDE MY ROOM. Starting with one of the landlords HAMMERING ON THE FUCKING DOOR AT NINE-THIRTY. Because of course they couldn't let us know about this, oh, say, YESTERDAY.
I HATE YOU, MEN WITH TOOLS. I HATE YOU, LANDLORD. GO EXPLODE AND DIE. MAYBE THEN I WILL SOMEDAY GET MORE THAN THREE HOURS OF SLEEP AT A TIME AGAIN.
Thank god they have weekends off. I have tomorrow off. I am sleeping until fucking six in the evening.
