Anaesthesia will definitely knock you out like that... the only true sense of time displacement I've ever had is when I get zapped for surgery and wake up with WHOLE PARTS OF MY LIFE MISSING. Heh.
Glad to hear you're still alive and all. Hope the computer thing works out! What a pain. I live in fear of something like that happening to me.
