To recap my current situation:
My hours at work were recently cut from forty to thirty-two and are not likely to be restored. Further, my manager knows I am looking for a new job and, due to some delusion in her part in re: the state of Maine's job market, thinks I will find one by the end of the year, and is thus beginning to train my replacement next week. The hours for said replacement will likely come out of my schedule.
I know from experience that it takes a while to find a job. So I will probably have no money very soon. I've barely been keeping afloat for months as it is, and now it looks, to mix my metaphors, like my juggling days are at an end.
I am having surgery next month. It is, admittedly, minor surgery (wisdom tooth extraction) but it is surgery nonetheless and will likely require some recuperation. The only reason I am able to get this surgery at a reasonable date is because my grandparents can afford to pay for it and are willing to do so.
And my roommate just blithely informed me that she will be serving me with a thirty-day notice on the first. I can understand why. I mean, we've never argued about anything at all, even something tiny like who bought toilet paper last, and we're never in each other's way, and we get along really well.
OH WAIT NO IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE AFTER ALL.
Seriously. She fed me some line about "people closer to [her] age" and "more like" her. We are scatterbrained TWINS, people, it is hilarious to listen to us talk to each other because neither of us can finish a fucking sentence or follow a thought to its conclusion.
I am at a loss here. I don't understand.
Okay, I'm done being a grownup. I want to go home now.
