* YAY Morgan Ensberg played today! He's been out since the fifth with a bruised wrist, but he pinch hit today and got an infield single. ♥ I really missed him; he's been probably my favorite thing about the Astros this year and I missed reading the recaps and looking for his name to see what he did. Also, Astros won 7-0. Mmmmpitching (Brandon Backe, nice to see you back in form again). Mmmmoffense (do that some more, please?).
* Speaking of the Astros, thanks to the psychotically insane wild card race I have been keeping a close eye on several other teams - right now I'm watching the Phillies, Marlins, and Nats, all of whom are quite close behind the 'Stros. The Phillies and Marlins are in a series right now, and when I went to check the score on today's game? I about hurt myself laughing at the box score. The Marlins were ahead 2-0 until the ninth, when they decided it would be fun to give up TEN RUNS. That? Is even better than the Astros' tragic seven-run ninth on Memorial Day. Thanks for the laughs, Phillies, and thanks for pushing 'em down to two and a half behind us.
* I checked the Red Sox game score real quick at work, and it was 2-1 in the sixth. I was amazed to get home and discover that that was the final score. Go pitching!
* The Tigers, on the other hand, have gone from actually being on the correct end of a 1-0 (in a game where the starter came out in the first inning, no less) to currently being down 3-1. Yeah, that sounds a little more like it.
* I have pumpkin ale. This has nothing to do with baseball, but it's good.
