catslash: (what now?)

Well, Bellhorn's been DFA'd. I'd be more upset, but a) the Tigers are taking care of the disturbing drama department, thanks, and b) I pretty much saw this coming a mile away. With Graff tearing it up and Bellhorn continuing his mediocre year rehabbing in Pawtucket, how else could that have gone?

Couple weeks ago, I spent a weekend with [livejournal.com profile] manderspander that was marred in its loveliness only by the Tigers' Awful, Horrible, No-Good, Very Bad Trade Deadline. One of the items on my list of ways to recuperate from said misery:

* Hurry to the mall bathroom to change into your shiny new Bellhorn shirt whilst assuring yourself that this certainly does not mean he will be put on waivers two weeks from now.

The shirt was purchased on August first. I was wrong about the waivers, but I nailed the time period almost to the day.

Oh, I'll still wear the shirt, just like I still wear my Wells #3 shirt. I just won't be happy that exactly fifty percent of my player shirts are now obsolete. Also, I am not allowed to buy any more player shirts until next April. All the ones procured since the end of last season (I also got a Schilling one for Christmas) have not worked out so well.

Some idiot bought you a Schilling shirt as a gift? Some friend! That's like wrapping up crap and slapping a bow on it. Crap that you thought you loved but makes you cringe when it starts that walk from the bullpen. Who the hell would do tha...Oh, wait. Heh. -Looks around.- Sorry 'bout that.

Well I bought Trotter, Bronson, and Schill and look how well that's going for me...You and I are banned from all BoSox apparell. We should invest in A-Rod jerseys...No, that can't even be said as a joke. Bad Manda.

In a nutshell, sorry about Mark. Now where will the Sox get their pot?
