I hate when I can't get to a computer for days at a time. Especially since I really, really wanted to post about Saturday's game while it was, you know, current.

Not that I'm not still thrilled. 'Cos not only did the Yankees lose, they got their asses handed to them! 2-0 shutout, with the Marlins pitcher, Josh Beckett, pitching a complete game. This is extra-special cool for us Mainers, since Beckett spent a season playing for one of our local teams, the Portland Sea Dogs. Y'all should have seen me after the game, kids - bouncing around and whooping, but as quietly as I could because my dad was already asleep. *g* Then I spent ten minutes writing a note for my dad to find when he woke up, which consisted primarily of "YANKEES SUCK!" elaborately drawn and coloured in. (I stole the note back the next day and cut that part out to put on my wall.) Then I called Amanda, but she wasn't home, so I gloated with her sister Shauna instead. Then we hung up and I, uhm, borrowed a shot of my dad's gross clear rum. I am SO BAD.

So, from the bottom if not only my heart but the heart of every Red Sox fan, thank you Marlins!

I am pathetically out of contact with the outside world and thus have just now learned that they fired Grady Little. Damn. You know, not that I know enough to have an opinion, but I do know that some of the Red Sox players were saying that he shouldn't be fired, and that's good enough for me. I'm sure they know a little more about Grady Little's managerial skills than even the most rabid fan, after all. So, I'll say it publicly - it's a shame.

Not much else going on. I've been working. I start training for Subway today. I also got a call from a gas station I applied to a few weeks ago saying that I'd gotten an excellent recommendation from my last job, and pretty much the only thing preventing my being hired was the fact that I'm too young - liquor sales require the presence of an employee twenty-one or older, and the station in question only has one person on at a time. However, since my birthday is relatively close (end of January), I'm not out of the running; she wants to get back in touch when I'm of age to see if they're still hiring. Since they're starting people at eight dollars an hour, as opposed to the six seventy-five I'm getting at both jobs now, I'm all about that. So, that was pretty cool. =)

I hauled out my PotC soundtrack this morning for the first time since I moved down here and gave it a listen, and now I'm all fired up for it to come out on DVD. Speaking of which, I have to start putting together my Christmas list. No, not that one, the one where I write down the people I need to get gifts for and possible ideas. There's really not a whole lot of time left.

. . . yay. =)
