Quick thanks to Moony Girl for the reply to my BoE review; it was nice to see a post from someone other than the friends I foisted this link upon . =)

Had a nice day today. Hung out with the family; my little (well, younger - since she's taller than me, the word "little" ain't gonna cut it no more) sister, Chelsea, made a chocolate chip coffee cake. And made me laugh my ass off by observing confusedly that the recipe didn't include coffee. She's fourteen, folks. Don't most fourteen year olds know this? She's a smart kid - gets way better grades than I ever did - but she can be so amazingly blonde sometimes. I also would like to mention that she starts high school on Tuesday. I'm having a hard time accepting this. Other than a slightly doughy middle (the oven here is kinda weird), the cake turned out beautifully.

Hung out a little with Mom, too. It was nice; we made each other laugh a lot and watched cooking shows. She lives and breathes by the Food Network, and I gotta admit that it's a lot more interesting than you'd think. Just don't watch it when you're hungry.

My little brother, Colby, hit two milestones today: he turned seventeen months old and received his first beesting. Is it just me, or is there something sad about such a tiny kid getting stung by a bee? That sounds dorky, but think about it. He's little. He doesn't know any better; as his dad, Lenny, pointed out, he just sees a pretty black and yellow thing. Of course he wants to touch it. But, as is the way of such things, his parents and I were much more upset in the long run than he was (he finished crying long before we finished discussing how much it sucked), so all's well. Also, now we know he's not fatally allergic. His hand swelled up a bit, but Lenny figures that's normal for a first sting.

*cough* Anyway. I also wrote a fic last night. It's a Spider-Man movieverse fic called "After the Battle," and it deals with the missing scenes between Norman Osborn's death and when Harry catches Spider-Man with the body. Shockingly, it's also non-slashy. Mark your calendars, kids, 'cos that ain't gonna happen again for a while. Frankly, I can't believe I'm the first one to write this fic. Someone, somewhere, has to have done it already. I'm going to post it to spiderfic and OsCorp_Industries in a few minutes; also, if I can from this computer (last time I tried, it wouldn't let me) I'll upload it to ff.net. Damn my inability to get into my website, anyway. Oh, well, at least it gives me the opportunity to pimp two excellent discussion lists. *g*
