Jesus Christ, Matty.

Tonight's Red Sox starting pitcher, Matt Clement, just took a nasty line drive to the head. Reports are coming in that he is conscious, alert, and aware of his surroundings and what happened, so that's good, but shit that was scary. He just dropped. And that ball was hit so hard. And pitchers don't wear helmets.

We love you Matt and we hope you're okay. And I personally also feel badly for Carl Crawford, who hit the line drive in question. That poor guy. What an awful thing.

I was so scared-I thought he might be dead when it happened!

*nod* Yeah. He just...didn't move. I didn't see him move at all, but I'm glad to hear that others did see him move.

Yeah, that definitely crossed my mind, but I saw his hands come down from his face and that seemed like a good sign, since it meant he'd been holding them there and it looked like he was moving them himself.

But, yeah. Scary.

God, seriously. On both parts. I read a comment from Jack Hamilton, soon after he hit Tony C in the head that he had never felt lower.

Man. MAN.
