Yankees versus Royals. Randy Johnson starting for the Yanks. RJ pitching against the Royals, which is about as fair as pitting him against the Sea Dogs. Well, this'll be totally embarrassing, like a squillion to one, right?

Well, not quite a squillion, actually, more like 3-1. But yes, absolutely embarrassing, the losing team didn't even get that one run until the ninth inning.

Just one small detail: that losing team was the Yankees.

I do believe this means that Royals have taken the series. Man oh man.

I may just have to make out with the Royals, especially their starter, DJ Carrasco, who offered up the shut-out start that Teh Unit could not manage (yeah, he gave up all three of those runs). Too bad Bernie Williams had to ruin it with that last-second homer in the ninth. Oh well. THE YANKEES STILL LOST. That's TWO IN A ROW. TO THE ROYALS.

In other news: The Red Sox also got owned, 9-3. At least this year the Orioles are an actual good team, so getting beaten by them is better than getting beaten by THE ROYALS.

And the Astros, whose game was the only of the four I cared about that I did not get to watch more than glimpses of, won 4-1. (They also scored four runs in their win yesterday. You just know Clemens is sitting in the dugout all, "Where were you assholes two days ago?") Okay, Astros, now let's get that three-game win streak.
