A few random game notes (keeping it short because oh my god I need sleep):
* PUDGE. Now that's how we come back from a 0-for-4 game.
* Dammit, Mirabelli. You couldn't hit a grand slam against ANY OTHER TEAM? Is not being able to enjoy a Red Sox grand slam my punishment for allowing myself to be wooed by another AL team?
* My split-personality reaction to Thames's homer in the ninth: "YES! *beat* JESUS, FOULKE!" If that's not an indication of the confusion that comes with rooting for both teams, I don't know what is. Very obliging of Foulkie to only give up the one solo homer tonight. Is this a sign of improvement?
Red Sox win 5-3, and again with the much better start than I expected. Maybe we won't completely implode and leave a giant mess for Schill and Wells after all.
Wake starts tomorrow, and I find it comforting to look forward to someone familiar on the mound. Even though frankly you never know what Wake's gonna do, at least we know who he is.
In news of other teams: The Astros are currently tied with the Pirates at four, and fuck all if I'm staying up to see how that turns out. Work's been super busy because we have the cheapest gas prices in town and I NEED SLEEP if I want to stop my head exploding.
Oh, and the Yankees? STOMPED by the Devil Rays, 11-4. Wow. That makes an 11-16 record, not that I'm obsessively keeping track to the point where I can adjust the numbers in my head after each game or anything. Oh, and the Devil Rays will NOT be facing Randy Johnson tomorrow (shame, I'd've liked to see them embarrass him again), because he has a stiff groin. OMG Randy Johnson injured? NO FUCKING WAY AHAHA. I'd laugh more, but frankly the less time spent thinking about Randy Johnson's groin, the better.

Love that the Yankees lost again to the worst team in the AL East. That roster shakeup is already paying dividends...FOR SOX FANS! It's really starting to look like it could go from just being an "Oh it's early in the season, they'll get their shit together by July" slump to a full-blown "Time to spin Steinbrenner's wheel-of-firing" slump. If it hasn't already. :)
Thank you for letting me vent my Rob & Amber hate on IM. I know they're your buds. And of course only a fraction of it is actual Rob & Amber hate; most of it is CBS-hate for letting them race in the first place.
Sleep well.
