OMG I used a subject line surely it is a sign of the Apocalypse!

Or just m way of emphasizing one of my favourite lines in a movie ever. To achieve understanding, track down the nearest copy of Rubin & Ed. You shall have no regrets. Except possibly for its failure to be on DVD. I regret that. It's such a fun, funny flick, and one of the few Crispin Glover movies I like for more than just Crispin.

Oh, and remember how I complained about Bruce Davison playing Willard like a whiny eight-year-old? Well, Willard's sequel, Ben, actually contains a whiny eight-year-old. Who is afflicted with a heart condition which is anvilliciously displayed many times, and he STILL DOESN'T DIE. Which is too bad, because he'd made friends with Ben - which caused me to sit there going, "See, Willard? See, if you'd just been nice to Ben . . ." - and it would have been a pretty cool ending if the kid had died as a result of running around trying to save the rats from the extermination effort, thus causing Ben (who had become disturbingly tame because of the friendship) to go batshit all over again. As it was, I gagged on the treacle. No wonder they never tried for a trilogy in spite of the apparent popularity of the two movies.

Rubin and Ed is just an awesome, awesome movie. It never fails to make me happy.

But, yeah, it'd be nice if it was on dvd.

It'd be easier to get if it was on DVD. And prettier.

The copy I rented had really made the rounds, though; I saw stickers from at least three different video stores. Including one in Vermont. Coooool.
