I did some asking and discovered that for my math credits? I DON'T HAVE TO TAKE COLLEGE ALGEBRA. I can take Contemporary Mathematics!
I am so happy. The last couple of weeks in Intro to Algebra have been really rough, and I've been feeling panicky about attempting to work on the college level. Contemporary Math, though, sounds a lot easier, as well as having material that might actually be stuff I could use later. I am so relieved. I was under the impression that College Algebra was required for my degree, which is why I took Intro, but it's not. I'd be annoyed about spending a semester in a class I didn't need which doesn't qualify as credits toward graduation, but fuck it. It helped me get used to doing math again, and to paying attention and putting in the effort, which is not a thing I did so much in high school math. So that's all right.
Whew. Okay, I have to go format a paper now. Last day is Monday, then it's almost a month till next semester. Boo. "Winter break" is not a "break" for me, because it means I have to work full-time to pay my rent and the like. School is my break!
