Being that I am fairly new at both being an independent adult and living in a city (I grew up in a smallish town), I am every once in a while struck by things that might seem mundane to others.
For example, today after the Evil Game From Hell that we shall not speak of (and man am I ever glad we're heading to Houston and Oswalt is starting Tuesday) (and also, I hope the White Sox are enjoying their free ride courtesy of the umpires), I required chocolate. So I went out to get some. And halfway there, it struck me: I was out of my house at quarter of midnight, walking to the store, to buy candy. A year ago, this would not have occurred to me as a thing I could do. A year and a few months ago, it would not have been a thing I could do period.
Wandering out for a candy fix in the middle of the night without thinking twice. I'm a city lady now.
